Known for his keen ability to execute a plan, Ray Gibbs assesses the strategic positions of Haydale Graphene Industries PLC in his role as the CEO. In this capacity, Mr. Gibbs looks to commercialize grapheme, or carbon molecules in the form of hollow spheres bonded in sheet form at one atom thick. To put it simply, graphene is mechanically 200 times stronger than steel, has in-plane electrical conductivity higher than copper and thermal conductivity similar to diamonds! By leveraging its proprietary plasma technology, Haydale is able to provide enhanced graphene for a wide range of applications. Mr. Gibbs’ day-to-day responsibilities include driving growth, meeting with potential customers, understanding materials used to supply solutions to customers, and dealing with interface companies and shareholders.

Mr. Gibbs developed a business strategy to launch Haydale and position the company as the foremost nano-engineered solutions provider. He set up agencies in the Far East and U.S., and arranged for suppliers for critical pieces. He also prepared it for a public listing and was admitted to the Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility in April 2014.
