An award-winning physician, Dr. Stefan Andrejicka has been providing psychiatric services to adults and children facing mental health issues for the last 20 years. A specialist in depression, anxiety, panic disorders and suicide prevention, he uses a variety of treatments to help his patients achieve optimal mental health. “The needs of every patient [are] different, so it is important to develop individualized care plans that evolve over time,” he notes of his approach to his psychiatry services. Dr. Andrejicka treats patients utilizing various forms of psychotherapy, medications, psychosocial interventions and other treatments (such as electroconvulsive therapy or ECT). Prior to establishing his medical career, Dr. Andrejicka earned an MD at the University of Western Ontario in 1977, with the initial plan to enter the field of research biochemistry. Following his internship in cardiovascular surgery, he took a role as a psychiatry resident, which introduced him to the area of practice for which he is now nationally regarded. For more than two decades, Dr. Andrejicka has been a private practitioner, achieving distinction by the Ontario Medical Association, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
